Analysing a television Advertisement in detail

Task three:

There are many different styles of advert being produced for large organisations everyday that have different scales of hilarity, fear, and even parody styles.

This advert is an example of a humorous advert that attracts people attention and makes people slightly disturbed in some aspects, this advert is a production by the well known chocolate brand Cadbury and is based on these two children in the way they position and move there eyebrows to the beat of the song playing in the background. This advert is targeted at children as it is demonstrating to children an eyebrow movement while looking into many different cameras. This advert gives the emotions of shock and humour as it is something that children wouldn't really do, this advert capture a viewers attention as it has nothing to do with the product itself and would make all viewers confused. The children are showing an aspect of the product as they are wearing the product colours, this means that it is using brand identity as it contains the colours that are associated with the product. This advert has encouraged many people to start making videos using the same techniques of movement of the eyebrows. This advert does not use celebrity endorsement as it does not contain a celebrity but just plain children. Many programmes have incorporated this eyebrow movement into there episodes where by it will amuse there audience. The setting in this is just a grey screen it is simple as it is trying to focus on the children in the advert, the lighting is quite bright but is also very dime and the logo is used at the end of the advert to give people an idea of what the advert is about. This advert does not have a story but does show two children doing an everyday thing as they are getting there photos taken. The characters in the advert are the children and they are just being themselves so they are not really playing  a character. This advert is effective as it would have confused the viewer and would allow them to interpret their own reasons for why they would be doing this in the advert.

The camera shots that are used in this advert include, mid-shots, long-shots, close ups, extreme close ups and zooming shot. Mid-shots are used in this advert to show both of the characters and to show what everybody is doing throughout the advertisement. Long-shots are used in this advertisement are used to show what is going on in the whole of the advert and what is happening around these people as well as what these people are doing. Close ups are used to focus on a specific person in the video as they use them to show what a certain person is doing. Finally extreme close ups in this advert are used in this case when the camera is focusing in on a watch this makes the watch seem important to the advertisement. The camera angles that are used in this are mostly high angles these are used as a way to make the advert more interesting, and this adds humour within the advertisement. Editing is used in this advert to add in an image of the product and the slogan that is used in all of the adverts produced for this product and to create a faster speed when the eyebrows are moving. Sound and Music are used in the advert for the beat that the children are moving there eyebrows in follows on with the beat of the music that is playing in the background, this makes the video stranger as it capture the way and speed that the children are moving there eyebrows. The company does not use special effects in this video as it is all done by the children's movement and does not need any special effects.
