Final Evaluation
Throughout the production of my advertisement i had to plan a few different pieces of information that i could follow to make my production successful. There were documents that i had to complete in the hope that i would be able to produce this production and that everything involved would run smoothly.
The Proposal
The first document that i completed was the proposal. In this document i explained in as much detail as possible what was going to happen throughout the making of my advertisement, and i made sure that all of the actors/actresses would understand what was going on throughout the making of my advertisement. In this document there are a number of things that are different to my advertisement as there were a few changes made during the filming of my advertisement. In the future i will make sure that all of the changes i have made throughout the course of my next production will be changed within the documents that i have produced. This document was very helpful as it made the actors/actresses aware of what was going to happen throughout the making of my advertisement.
Production Budget
In the second document i made sure that all of the relevant information that i would need to work out how much everything would cost was put into this document. However, this document was not useful as i did not need to pay for anything throughout the making of this production. This document would have been relevant if i had to pay for any equipment, it would have also been helpful as i would have had a budget that i would have been able to stick to. In the future i will make sure that i do a thorough search on the prices of equipment that i used.
Shooting Schedule
Before i could begin filming i had to first produce a shooting schedule, this made it easier to know what shots i were going to do, where is would be filmed, what equipment i would need to produce this section of the advertisement, what costumes would be needed for them specific days, what props would be needed on those days and who would be filmed on these specific days. This document was useful to me when i was filming my production, as i could refer to it when i needed to know what the next shot would have been. There were some difficulties and changes with this document, as in my actual advertisement i did not use all of the people that were originally meant to be in my advertisement. In my next production it would be useful to make sure that nothing would have to be changed throughout my production, and as a result i would not have to worry about changing anything. When i next do a production like this i will try and make sure that i can follow the shooting schedule.
Production Schedule
In my production schedule i had to include important details like for instance an image and information about where the filming would take place, maps of where the production would have been shot, health and safety issues that may have occurred, and potential filming problems that may arise. This document would have been useful in case of any emergencies could have deflected me from being able to film. This document was not essentially useful to my production as i did not need to use it, and it the development of my production was made easier as all of the actors/actresses knew where they needed to go for the filming. When i next make a production i will make sure that i give this information for all of the actors/actresses to make sure that they know where they will need to go.
Contingency Plan
In this document i made sure that it stated what some problems may have been throughout this production and how they would have been overcome. This would have been useful as there were a few problems with filming and there was some miss communication within the group. There was also another issue with the actors/actresses as some of them decided that it would have been better to pull out at the last minute, this document would have made it a lot easier to overcome these issues. When i am next making a production like this i will make sure that i can change problems easier to change.
Shot List
I produced a shot list to make it easier for me to know what part of my production i was mean't to be filming next. This document was very useful to me as it was an alternative way for me to be able to look at the shots rather than having to look at my storyboards very often. This also made it easier and faster for me to find out what shots i was going to be doing at specific times. They would have also been very helpful as i was able to find out if i had done anything wrong and if i should change it. When i am next making a production i will make sure that i will use these documents as they will make it easier and faster for me to do my filming.
Costumes and props/ contact details
When i was filming it was useful to use the costume and props sheets as it made me aware of what all of the actors and actresses should have been wearing, and what props would have been needed. I did not use these productions sheets as i had a clear vision of what all of the cast should have been wearing. However, this production document would have been helpful if the cast did not know what they needed to wear and made the production team aware of what props were needed. The contact details sheet would have been useful as it had all of the contact numbers for the cast on it. This contact information would have been useful if i needed to get in contact with the cast because it would have made it easier and faster to get in contact with them. I will make sure next time that if there are any problems i will refer to these two sheets in case of any emergencies.
Call sheet
The call sheet would be used to find out any information that we needed to know fast. It will give all of the information for the people that we would need and to find out who has the job of doing what on the days of filming. This sheet would have given some idea of the specific jobs that all of the group members would have had. This sheet would have been useful if people did not know what there specific job roles were throughout the course of filming. During the next filming project that i will produce it will be vital for me to make sure that i follow all of the appropriate timings and dates throughout.
Meeting record
I produced a meeting record as it is used to show what i spoke about with the cast when we had a meeting to discuss what was going to happen while i was filming this production. This sheet would have been helpful as it would have given me information about what the cast thought of the idea for my advertisement and how i could improve this. I did not use this sheet as i did not need to at the time of filming, i also knew what i was doing when i had produced this schedule.
In conclusion i feel that the most helpful documents that i produced were the shooting schedule and the shot list as both of these documents helped me to work out what shots i was mean't to be producing. They also helped as it mean't that i could find out information about the shots that i was doing quickly, these sheets would have made it easier to find out important information. One of the sheets that i did not find useful was the production budget as i did not need to buy any equipment, but if i was going to use this sheet i would have tried to find more information about the equipment i needed whilst filming. I feel that the production sheet that would have needed to be improved would have been the meeting record as it could have been changed to make the sheet more useful, and the information that i collected could have been more useful. In the future i will make sure that i use these sheets as there were some problems that they could have helped me with, and evidently this may have stopped some of these problems for occurring. Overall, if these issues did not happen within the group then the production of this advertisement would have ran smoothly. In my next production i will make sure that i will pick the right people to be involved with in my group and there will be no issues between the group members.
